About the movement
Why this movement?
Public libraries are the knowledge commons of our towns. Students, young people preparing for competitive exams and senior citizens alike can walk in and read, free of charge.
When the good books we have finished reading at home, and the new books we would gladly buy, reach library shelves, thousands of readers benefit. Books for TN builds a transparent, orderly way to make that happen.
Who is organising it?
Books for TN is a citizens' initiative run by volunteers. We connect donors, volunteers and library officials so that every book reaches the right library.
A nonpartisan civic effort
This movement is not affiliated with any political party. Everyone is welcome to join, across all differences of opinion, for one civic purpose: stronger public libraries.
